Social program (Monday, July 24)

The Ozark National Scenic Riverways are the natural gem of the midwest. The National Park is just a one-hour drive south of Rolla, stretching along the Currrent and Jacks Fork rivers. The rivers are known for their towering dolomite bluffs, caves, cold & clear blue springs, gravel bars, crystal-clear water, deep pools, swift currents, Rainbow & Brown Trout, wild horses, bald eagles, black bears, historic sites, trails and more. Undoubtedly, they are two of the finest floating rivers you’ll find anywhere.

Our kayak/canoe trip at the upper Current River is a great and easy float for all experience levels, including absolute beginners. The trip will take about 3 hours floating time, but we plan on multiple stops along the river for sightseeing, picnicking, and swimming for those who enjoy a bath in the fresh water. Please bring clothes that can get wet (e.g., swim shorts, T-shirt).

The cost of the excursion is estimated at about US$50 per person (exact pricing depends on the number of participants and will be determined later), including transportation, floating gear rental, and some light food and drinks. More information can be found at https://www.currentrivercanoe.com/.
